Back in 1999 Deep Chill Network created a CD of the deepest chill and drone material called “Heart of the Tundra.” The CD struck a chord with listeners and established DCN as drone masters. The music was featured on many excellent ambient and spacemusic radio shows such as Starsend. Music reviewers said "...like gusts of wind, ending in murmurs and rumbles… Though it does evoke a frozen darkness, it has a kind of restful, peaceful quality to it that I found coldly comforting." (Wind and Wire magazine, 1999)
For years DCN wanted to release a sequel and have attempted to recreate the feel and vibe of this CD but had never been able to put together a release we felt worthy of the title “Heart of the Tundra 2” until 2014 when they were finally confident enough to say "we feel they have done it." After that, it seemed to make sense to follow it up with a 3 part to complete the trillogy, and here you have it, supremely chilled glacial ambient for summer, and don't hold me to it but I believe a #4 is in the works.
