Back in 1999 Deep Chill Network created a CD of the deepest chill and drone
material called “Heart of the Tundra.” The CD struck a chord with listeners and
established DCN as drone masters. The music was featured on many excellent
ambient and spacemusic radio shows such as Starsend. Music reviewers
said "...like gusts of wind, ending in murmurs and rumbles… Though it does
evoke a frozen darkness, it has a kind of restful, peaceful quality to it that I found
coldly comforting." (Wind and Wire magazine, 1999)
For years DCN has wanted to release a sequel and have attempted to recreate the feel and vibe of this CD but has never been able to put together a release we felt
worthy of the title “Heart of the Tundra 2.” With this release however, we feel they
have done it. Contained within this music is not only the essence of essential
ambient drone, but the feel and vibe of the arctic north.
